Description
A vintage Japanese demitasse set by Meito, comprising six cups and six matching saucers. One extra saucer. Each piece is crafted from porcelain and features a rich design with a wide burgundy-red band adorned with intricate gold scrolling, floral motifs, and decorative borders. The cups have gold-trimmed rims and handles, while the saucers continue the complementary red and gold pattern. The undersides are marked "MEITO MADE IN JAPAN HAND PAINTED". This set is characteristic of decorative Japanese porcelain from the mid-20th century.
Condition Report
Loss of gold trim is visible on the rim. A hairline crack exists which is very small, pointed on in the photograph with a match. One cup is chipped as photographed.
