Lot 017: Lot of Assorted Vintage Silver Plate and Ceramic Homewares Sundries
Estimate: $40 - $70 AUD. Current bid: $19 AUD.
Description
This lot features a collection of vintage decorative and functional homeware items. It includes a three-tier ceramic cake stand adorned with gold trim and delicate floral patterns, one of the plates bearing the mark "WOOD & SONS ENGLAND 2 63", indicating production in February 1963. Alongside this is a white milk glass cake stand with an elegant ruffled edge. The silver-plated components consist of a teapot, a smaller creamer or sugar pot (both marked "EXHIBIT SKPWPRL PRODUCT M.S.A. QUALITY" on their bases, identifying them as silver plate), a circular openwork trivet or stand with a handle, a pair of matching candlesticks, and a silver-plated bowl fitted with a gridded insert, commonly used as a flower frog.
Condition Report
Significant tarnishing, oxidation, and surface wear are visible on all silver-plated items. Minor surface scratches and scuffs are present across all items, consistent with their age and previous use. No obvious chips or cracks are discernable on the ceramic or milk glass pieces from the provided images.
