Lot 052: Lot of Three English Willow Pattern Ceramic Platters and Plate
Estimate: $40 - $60 AUD. Starting bid: $9 AUD.
Description
A lot comprising three antique/vintage English ceramic platters and one plate, all featuring variations of the iconic blue and white (and one sepia-toned) Willow Pattern design. The lot includes a large sepia-toned oval platter, a medium blue and white oval platter measuring approximately 35cm in width, and a smaller blue and white scalloped-edge plate measuring approximately 23cm in width. The small scalloped plate is marked 'Made in England' on its base, indicating likely English origin for all pieces. These items represent classic English transferware, depicting a traditional oriental landscape scene with pagodas, bridges, boats, and birds.
Condition Report
Visible crazing on all pieces. Discolouration and staining, particularly on the sepia-toned platter and the reverse of the small scalloped plate. Pattern fading and surface wear consistent with age and use. Minor edge nicks or flea bites are possible but not clearly identifiable as major damage in the provided images.
