Description

A comprehensive collection of vintage silver-plated homewares and decorative items, including various serving trays, a cake stand, candlesticks, a goblet, a tankard, and decorative bowls. This lot represents a variety of EPNS items from the mid-20th century, perfect for collectors or those seeking to restore their shine. Key Details: * Origin/Era: Mid-20th Century * Material: Electro-plated Nickel Silver (EPNS) * Style: Mixed, including Rococo revival and simpler designs * Maker's Marks: Paramount Marlborough, CMI Condition: Significant tarnishing is present across all items, varying in degree. Some items show visible wear to the silver plating, particularly on raised details and interiors of bowls. Scratches and minor surface imperfections are consistent with age and use. No major dents or structural damage observed, though some pieces may have minor bending. Interesting fact: * Electro-plating was a revolutionary process in the 19th century, making silver-plated items more accessible to the middle classes who desired the look of sterling silver without the prohibitive cost. Early EPNS pieces, especially A1 grade (highest quality), often had a thicker layer of silver. Use: Ideal for collectors of vintage silver-plated items, for use as decorative accents, or for restoration projects to bring back their original lustre.
