Description

A collection of four vintage religious texts, including three Holy Bibles and one Hymnal Companion. The lot comprises a large Oxford University Press "Holy Bible" (with an inscription dated 1894), a "The Jerusalem Bible" published in 1968, a "The Bible Authorized Version" by The British & Foreign Bible Society, and "The Hymnal Companion To The Book of Common Prayer" (Third Edition, Revised and Enlarged, 1890) by Sampson Low, Marston, Searle and Rivington.

Condition Report

The books exhibit significant wear consistent with age and use, including scuffing, fading, and discolouration to covers and spines. The smallest book, "The Hymnal Companion", shows particularly heavy wear with worn edges and corners, and potential detachment of the cover. Pages show age-related yellowing and some handwritten inscriptions and notes are present in one of the Bibles, along with paper inserts.
